#8786 closed defect (worksforme)

trac.edgewall.org website does not let you register

Description

Trac website (trac.edgewall.org) does not let you register and it does not include any information regarding how to create an account.

I tried to repair some errors on the wiki and the Spam blocker blocked me without any information on how to create an account or to pass the spam test.

I consider this an important issue because it does discourage contributions for other people.

Well, only TracTeam members have an account here.

But as we write next to comment fields (ticket or wiki):

Your email or username: ___________________

E-mail address and user name can be saved in the Preferences.

So just do that, go in Preferences and set your name and e-mail address there. This helps with the Spam filter…

First email/username is not always remembered and it did not use worked in order to be a be able to pass the Spam filter.

I really like Trac and I would like to add my contribution to it. Any solutions?

Any chance in activating OpenID login so people could vote for bugs instead of spamming them with "+1" comments?

Replying to sorin.sbarnea@…:

No, but if you want to vote, it's enough to set your username and e-mail address in your preferences (follow the link "Preferences" at the top right).
