Description

I've not found any entry for this in your database, please forgive me if I missed it.

When using the notification feature of Trac, emails are sent to updater, owner, … according to the trac.ini configuration. The content such an email can be:

(In [666666]) fixes #55555 - added correction (...)

which is meaningfull within the Trac system as it interprets:

  • [666666] as a link to the 666666th changeset
  • and #55555 as a link to the 55555th ticket

It could be usefull to send an email with real http links which could then be clicked to access them directly into Trac. This would give an email content like:

(In http://myserver/trac/changeset/666666) fixes http://myserver/trac/ticket/55555 - added correction...

As I agree that this could make the email reading difficult (as full links can be huge), it could be optional using a trac.ini configuration such as :

[notification]

use_full_links = true

I've set milestone to 0.12, but, of course, it is just a suggestion.

Yep, as you guessed, there's almost an exact duplicate, #5935. That one has been consolidated into #4270, as the idea is two-fold: produce a "better" text from the wiki markup by stripping away what is only wiki markup (like [[br]] macros) and augment it with links (comment:ticket:4270:2).
