I had to search quite a bit before I found out that certain parts of page could be 'commented out' using:

I think that this should be documented in the WikiFormatting page.

You are right :-) - though I wasn't sure what process is followed for modifying this Trac - so I erred on the side of caution.
I modified both pages mentioned above - see the changes here
