Description
Currently, it seems that you have to own (or have shell access) to install and use Trac. It would be highly useful to be able to use it in a hosted environment.

Summary: | Make the beautiful Trac installable on a Shared (virtual) server with PHP → Make installable on a shared (virtual) server |

This shared hosting provider has Trac: http://www.webfaction.com/trac-hosting - not sure if it still requires shell access though.

That may also imply that Trac should be able to use other methods than file:/// to access the subversion repo.
See #493 for that.
See also CommercialServices for hosted environments.
