Description
I know these items have been mentioned before, and I will link to the relevant items. What I am suggesting is a bit of a combination of #2073, #1459, and #153.
We recently moved a project off of sourceforge and started moving tracker items as well. We would like some of the same functionality that their trackers provided. Several things need to change to provide this functionality:
- On sourceforge, you could configure the tracker to send out email to a particular address when a ticket is created, and created only, just like #2073 suggests.
- Sourceforge has the ability to let a user "monitor" a ticket for changes. The user has the ability add themselves to the monitor and only allowed to delete themselves, much like #1459. Furthermore, this "monitor" action does not send out email messages about the ticket being changed. It is essentially an 'invisible' change, like #2200 suggested. When I was doing searches for these tickets, I ran across #11 which demonstrates this better than anything because it is hard to see actual changes towards the end among the CC: field changes.
- Lastly, I think that email address masking like #153 is sorely needed. The last things users need is spam bots picking up their email addresses because they were interested in changes to a ticket.
Anyway, I hope you seriously consider these changes. Thanks for the great work on Trac and I look forward to future versions.
