TracOnFreeBsd
v24 v25 11 11 Tip: If you don't want the version of Trac available in the ports tree, install the port anyway to have the proper dependencies automatically installed. Uninstall the port, leaving the Trac dependencies installed, and then install your chosen version of Trac. 12 12 13 ''''''NOTE:'''''' As of at least 04/2006, the clearsilver port for FreeBSD is broken for FreeBSD 4.x. Trac requires this, so in essence, you are SOL if you want to run Trac on 4.x. Google is not showing any workarounds and there does not seem to be any work going on to fix this. It appears to be a threads issue. 13 == Special Note on FreeBSD 4.x == 14 14 15 Managed to build clearsilver tarballed source distribution (latest stable - 0.10.3) by using GMAKE instead of MAKE. I had to disable Ruby bindings because of another stupid error, which was no real loss for me. 15 As of at least 04/2006, the clearsilver port for FreeBSD (one of Trac's dependencies) is broken for FreeBSD 4.x. It appears to be a threads issue. However, until the port is fixed, it appears possible to build clearsilver from the source distribution rather than ports (latest stable - 0.10.3) by using GMAKE instead of MAKE. You may need to disable clearsilver's Ruby bindings, but this is not an impediment to using Trac. Download clearsilver, untar it and build and install as follows: 16 16 17 17 ./configure --disable-ruby && gmake && gmake install 18 18 19 Trac 0.9.6 running on FreeBSD4.x perfectly! 19 Once clearsilver has been installed, Trac and the rest of its dependencies will install cleanly from ports.
