Where do I register?

Description

In every project management or bug tracking system I've seen (RT, GitHub, Google Code, Launchpad, all Trac deployments for that matter etc.), users have to register before filing tickets.

Not so in Trac itself.

I clicked on Login, got the "401 - Unauthorized", wasted a bunch of time searching for a "Register" page, then gave up and filed a ticket using my e-mail.

If one can't register, the existence of a Login link is deceptive for all new Trac users (I assume the Login link is for existing contributors who have registered using some other mechanism).

This site is sufficiently open that you don't need registration to do most things like filing tickets or editing wiki pages (though the latest spam wave may change that). Only committers to the project have a login. You can, however, fill in your details under "Preferences", so that your name and e-mail address are remembered from on visit to the next.

About the "Login" link being deceptive, well, it has to be somewhere for people who do have a login to do so…
