Browser hangs when opening a page from the search results page

Description

To reproduce:

  1. Enter 'test ' (or any string with a trailing space) into the quick search text field, hit submit
  2. Click one of the search results
  3. Be ready to kill and restart your browser

This problem has been reproduced with Firefox and Safari on Mac OS X, as well as Firefox on Windows and Linux.

The JavaScript search word highlighting functionality is probably the cause of the problem here.
