#3565 closed defect (invalid)

timeline date display does not respect user's time zone

Description

The date display is messed up in the timeline display—my current "timeline" looks something like:

08/16/06:

15:45: Changeset [149] by mstillwell

add credit, caption columns to casestudy table

08/15/06:

14:02 Ticket #10 (defect) closed by hjakison

fixed: it was all to do with paths…

13:12 Ticket #11 (task) created by cherse

build voting system

(See attachment.)

All these tickets were added on the same day: the times are correct, but there shouldn't be a change of day between 14:02 and 15:45!

I suspect this is because my time zone is set to "London"; if it's set to server time I get something like:

08/16/06:

00:45 Changeset [145] by mstillwell

08/15/06:

Are you by any chance using the datetime branch? Or trunk? What revision?

I'm not sure … I'm using a hosted installation (at cvsdude.com). The version number in the footer is 0.10dev. Grepping for "datetime" on the "Configuration" and "Plugins" pages (just under the main nav) gives nothing.

So what do you mean by “my time zone is set to "London"“? Are you configuring that in Trac?

Yes, I'm configuring my time zone in Trac using the "Settings" page. (Where you enter your name and email address—the Trac installation here (on trac.edgewall.org) appears to not have this field.)

The macros/plugins/patches my host has installed:

  • Page To PDF
  • Time Tracking
  • TOC
  • Date Off Set
  • Show Path
  • Display CSV data in a table
  • Foot-notes for Trac
  • Ticket Box
  • Trac Blog
  • Tags Plugin
  • Excel Viewer
  • Trac Nav

Timezone is not supported in the current development version - so whichever value you enter in this field, it is ignored.

(btw I thought it was removed a long time ago: [1042], so I'm surprised it still appears in a 0.10dev version, except if CVSdude are using the datetime branch?)

Resolution: invalid
Status: newclosed

The "Timezone" setting on the CVSDude hosted sites does not match the one in the datetime branch. I can only assume that this is a customization CVSDude has made to their Trac installation so you will need to need to contact CVSDude for support.
