Description (last modified by Christopher Lenz)

  • CentOS-4.3 (RHEL-4)
  • Apache 2.0.52 SSLEngine enabled
  • trac-0.9.4
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0

There is no problem with this setup using Firefox-1.5. If Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 (MS-IE6), patched to latest SP and hot fixes, is used instead then any attempt to edit a wiki page yields this url and error:

https://xxxx.harte-lyne.ca/wiki/WikiStart?action=edit

The page cannot be found The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Please try the following:

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Open the xxxx.harte-lyne.ca home page, and then look for links to the information you want. Click the Back button to try another link. Click Search to look for information on the Internet.

HTTP 400 - Bad Request Internet Explorer

The url is correct and is identical to the one processed by FireFox without error.

I have attempted to locate this issue in the trac ticket databse and in the archives of the trac mailing list. If a solution is already known then please link this ticket to it when it is closed.

I'm getting the same problem with Firefox 1.5. I don't think it's the actualy browser though.

My server system:

  • Win XP Professional
  • Apache 2 OpenSSL
  • Trac 0.9.4

Funny thing though, it does not happen with all the pages. Only some of them. It tries for ages and then ultimately returns a 400: Bad Request.

Don't know what this is about, but there won't be a fix in 0.9.5.

Does you fix this problem? I have similar problem but with another product… can you help me with solution?

Milestone: none

As suggested by the link above, not sure if this is a Trac specific problem. It might be worth further investigations though.

Still working had to find the cause? :-) I have a feeling that time as healed things. I have a lot of windows users, run everything through https, and in recent memory I have not seen or heard anything about such problems.

Resolution: duplicate
Status: newclosed

The problem with big wiki pages in IE mentioned in #6268 certainly is still present, and that problem exhibits the same symptom as those described in the description above, The page cannot be found ..., but not involving SSL, and only for IE (as opposed to comment:1).

So, if anything, we can mark this ticket as "somehow" duplicate to #6268.
