Description
I'm running into a strange problem in Trac 0.9.4 installed on Ubuntu 5.10. I've restored a hotcopy of a project from an older install (0.9.2) on another machine.
I have email notification on, with a few different addresses in the 'always_cc' line. When I try to submit or update a ticket, about half the time I get "Internal Server Error 500". The log says simply "15:14:58 Trac[Notify] DEBUG: Sending SMTP notification to execulink.com on port 25". The ticket is indeed submitted and/or updated, and at least a subset of the recipients receive the emails each time.
The apache2 error log says "[Fri Mar 03 15:14:58 2006] [notice] mod_fcgid: process /usr/share/trac/cgi-bin/trac.fcgi(6218) exit(communication error), terminated by calling exit(), return code: 0"
Not too sure what's going on here… Is it in the notification code? Is it due to the hotcopy restore? Is it due to the version change?
Sorry for the vague description and the multiple variables, but I'm stuck here :)

update: this is not actually an issue with Trac I think, although it would be nice if Trac recovered from it more gracefully. I used apt-get to remove postfix and install sendmail and the problem appears to have gone away. most likely it was a misconfiguration in postfix?

As reporter points out, this is a misconfiguration of the mail server, and not a Trac issue.
update: this is not replicable when notification is off on that restored project, nor is it replicable when notification is on on a non-restored project, created clean on this machine.
