#9944 closed defect (cantfix)

Mail notifications are showing all mail message headers in Outlook 2003

Description

Notification emails are being sent out and work fine in all programs tested except Outlook 2003. In this mail program all of the message headers are showing in addition to the body of the message.

I am guessing there is a formatting issue, like line endings or something that Outlook 2003 doesn't like, but I am not familiar enough with Python to easily try and fix the notification.py module.

Can you try a more recent Trac version (0.11.7 or 0.12.1)? 0.11.1 is very old.

I am not familiar with Python at all and did a one click install on dreamhost. It is supposed to actually be 0.11.4. I tried just unzipping 0.12.1 and renaming it to the same folder name as the previous install, but didn't get any change in the footer (still says 0.11.1 and cant really tell any difference. So it could be that this just won't work changing this way.

It is running fast cgi, so maybe that is an issue or maybe I am just missing something.

It is setup so it runs in root folder that does exec /mypath/cgi-bin/trac.fcgi where mypath is the place I have the 12.1 code. Do I need to run setup.py to actually make this work, is there any risk to messing up my current install?

Sorry for asking such newbie questions. It is running sqlite

Sorry, it's more like an InstallationIssue, we can't really help here.

As for the initial problem report about Outlook, we would need:

  • a confirmation this still happens with recent Trac (≥ 0.12.x)
  • a precise description of the problem (like the settings used in [notification] section, a dump of the raw content of a mail as seen by outlook, etc.). Well, anything that could make it possible for us to identify the problem without actually having to use Outlook ;-)
