Description
There is a message composed by a single word, "by", currently used in two different contexts:
#: trac/ticket/templates/milestone_view.html:52 #: trac/timeline/templates/timeline.html:43 msgid "by"
The milestone view uses it in the little panel on the right, to say something like "show the statuses *by* XXX", meaning "grouping the numbers *by* XXX" where XXX is one of "component", "priority" and so on.
The timeline instead uses the same word to say "changeset 123 (made) *by* SomeUser".
This makes difficult/impossible the translation of that single message: for example in italian, the two forms could be rendered respectively as "stato segnalazioni *per* componente|priorità…" and "changeset 123 *di* SomeUser". Given that the current italian catalog translates "by" with "per", right now I can see the right sentence in the milestone view, while the timeline is "wrong", because it render as "changeset 123 per SomeUser" which sounds as "changeset 123 for SomeUser" in english, quite misleading to say the least :-)
So, in general, the i18n people should try to avoid standalone and "too generic" words like "by".
Thank you all.

Good advice, unfortunately when trying to do this, it seems I triggered a Genshi i18n bug.
