Description

would be nice to have more contents and details in the rss feed.

The Bucktracker Bugdar has a nice layout for RSS Feeds

see e.g. (with a rss reader) http://www.bluestatic.org/bugs/syndicate.php

Screenshots to illustrate the difference between the two systems. I assume the ticket author means adding more context by showing more ticket properties in the feed, right?

on the bugdar screenshot you can nicely see the details of the tickets.

thx sid for the screenshots!

would be nice to have a template file or string where the user can customize the format of the rss feed.

all the variables of a ticket should be accessible in the format.

maybe we should have different rss templates for all kinds of trac items (ticket/changeset/..), because we have less information about a changeset in comparison to a ticket

I'm strongly in favor of this suggestion; the RSS feed is often missing vital context information (especially for changesets).

comment:7 by markus.staab@…, 17 years ago

if you change the rss format, you should think about the following:

if a ticket appears on the main TRAC RSS Feed there should be also a link to the Ticket RSS Feed in it

comment:8 by sid, 17 years ago

Version: 0.10.4

+1 for more contextual details in the RSS feed (just like currently exists in emails).

-1 for making this customizable.

Milestone: 0.12

Maybe for 0.12.

Similar to the request of having the list of files in for the changeset entries. We could have perhaps a verbose flag for the timeline RSS.

Having the relevant ticket details in RSS feeds from custom queries seems a must, though.

Also, it appears that new comments to tickets do not appear in the timeline, which is a major omission.

You simply forget to enable the matching option (ticket details) in your project configuration. Please check out TracIni.

Oh, I had totally missed that one - thanks! (Sorry for accidentally abusing this for support queries… )
