Description
i would enjoy having a wiki macro or a wiki extension language that would apply the corresponding heading to a list item's depth. for example:
2. item 1 2. item 1.1 2. item 1.2 2. item 1.2.1 2. item 1.2.2 2. item 2 2. item 3
would result in:
- item 1
- item 1.1
- item 1.2
- item 1.2.1
- item 1.2.2
- item 2
- item 3
it would be a great enhancement for wiki editing, especially for copy/paste of paragraphs that would otherwise need re-numbering and rewriting headings.

Lists wouldn't be treated as headings by default, only when using .2
, not when using .1
(which is somewhat the default list iterator). Using rst is a solution, but I'd prefer not to learn a new syntax and combine both to write wiki pages.
Using WikiRestructuredText, you can get automatically numbered headings (and table of contents as well).
See TracFaq for an example of just that.
This is a better way to achieve what you wish to accomplish.
I don't think treating all lists as headings by deafult is a good idea, though.
