Don't throw away user's work if error occurs during 'Submit'

I've lost many hours of work retyping long Trac comments that were lost due to errors during comment or ticket submission. The error page does not contain the lost typed text, nor does using the back button yield a page with the lost text.
I'm entering this issue now in pure frustration, since it just happened to me again, creating a NEW TICKET. There was some issue with the cookie, and all my work in the description of the new ticket was simply discarded.
Everyone on my team has experienced this frustration many times. When is this going to be fixed?
