Adium 1.0.1 wont connect to gmail on an intel mac

I am using the latest version of Adium on an intel mac machine running the latest version of osx (10.4.8). I can get Adium to connect to my aim account, but not to my gmail account. When I type in my gmail name and password, adium gives me error message "Write error" after trying to connect.

  1. Can I connect to my gmail contacts via Adium on a mac?
  2. How do I do it?
  3. Under the options subtab in the accounts tab, what do i need to enter for the contact server, resource, port, available and away priority?

Set your email in Preferences
Action
as closed The owner will remain Jonas Borgström.
The resolution will be deleted. Next status will be 'reopened'.
to The owner will be changed from Jonas Borgström to the specified user.

Add Comment
E-mail address and name can be saved in the Preferences .
