Well, the checksums in the mail would add some confidence that the checksums found on the TracDownload page are genuine… even more so if the mail is PGP signed.
Theoretically someone could prepare an .exe installer, silently hack t.e.o, wait for us to prepare a release, then jump in and replace the checksum in the TracDownload page with the one of the malicious .exe.

While we are at it, I have difficulty with the following line:
"we offer hope that Trac will prove itself useful …"
I don't think that is what we do. We actually hope and therefore should read:
"we hope that Trac will prove itself useful …"
Should it also be "previous version" as opposed to "last version"?

Tentatively scheduling for 26-June, but might push to 03-July.

Planning for 03-July, so please push any planned changes before then. I'll also create 1.2rc1 around the same time.

I'm considering simplifying the release announcement going forward. Since the downloads and SHA/MD5 checksums can be found TracDownload and pypi:trac, I'm not sure it's necessary to include them in the message. Omitting them would save some copy/paste.
As context, the release announcement for 1.0.11 can be found at: trac-announce:dD8NKkLPTUA/anbmfwsrBgAJ.
Here is the proposed message for 1.0.12:
