The above ticket filed is about the required and necessary extension point for adding new directives to the Genshi template engine.

This would provide a nice approach to consolidating multiple Trac environments under an unified interface (i.e. TracMultipleProjects/MultipleEnvironments).
Not to be confused with #11025 (TracMultipleProjects/SingleEnvironment), but interesting nevertheless.

@carsten.klein what's your current status on this? It appears #10226 has been closed as wontfix.. does it mean this approach is also dead?

For one, https://github.com/axnsoftware/trac-portal-plugin listed on the wiki page doesn't really exist.

I moved towards impl. my own p3k based framework since then… We can close the issue, I think.

Well, some specifics of the idea probably can be abandoned (the Genshi extensions), but the overall idea remains interesting.

I haven't looked into this for quite a while now. And I did not create the repository on github due to the following reasons:
First, I got carried away with #10226 :D and second, I have been busy. I do have some related sources somewhere in the mess I call my workspace.
Will have a look at this and see in what state the prototype is. But I fear that it is just a bunch of ideas and concepts in a wiki…
