#6344 closed defect (duplicate)

wiki processor does not properly close italics or bold within list items

Description

If i close a block of wikitext with an itemized list, and the last item of the list is marked italic or bold, and the close symbols aren't in place, the closing tag for the bold or italic tagset is never generated.

An example of problematic wikitext would be:

Here comes a list:

 * apples
 * pears ''and bananas

To demonstrate (the spam filter really doesn't want me to post this for some reason):

Here's that list:

  • apples
  • pears and bananas

I've tested this on trac 0.11dev as of r6060, and am seeing the same issue.

The problem doesn't seem to be as severe if there is a line of real text after the problematic list item: in that case, the trailing line remains in italics, but the wikitext as a whole ends up well-balanced.

Replying to dkg-debian.org@fifthhorseman.net:

Uh, i meant by this that i'm seeing the issue in both versions of trac — it appears to affect both 0.10.4 and 0.11. I didn't mean to make it sound like i'm trying to corroborate my own bug, which would be silly.
