#9738 new enhancement

Add "attach file" button at the end of the ticket

Description

Add "attach file" button at the end of the ticket as some (novice) users have problems finding a way to attach a file. They are used from wiki that button is at the bottom and in ticket also a change ticket form is at the bottom. So it is not really reasonable to imagine that there is one button up there (if you missed it). Even the anchor link to attachments does not help much. So I believe it would be useful to simply add "attach file" at the bottom, too.

I do find it somewhat confusing that Add Attachment is separated from all of the other inputs for modifying the ticket by the (often lengthy) comment history. I can see how someone would scroll to the end of the ticket and expect to see a button to Add attachment near Add a comment and Modify Ticket.

Yes, me too. The last time I tried to fix that, I had trouble with the fact that the buttons at the bottom are not in the same form as the "Add attachment" button, so the whole thing quickly became tricky.

I am working on it.
In the meantime, i would be grateful, if someone could give me edit permissions and/or assign this bug to me.

We welcome your patch, but generally don't assign tickets until the patch is ready to be committed.

Btw, the issue with session name and email not being used to populate the author entry when an anonymous user attempts to accept a ticket will be fixed in #11418.
