Looks interesting and what you've done could be used as a starting point.
However please consider using jQuery for the Javascript parts and take care to not introduce spurious changes in the .py files.

By the way, if I understand correctly your intent, this ticket is supposed to supersede #2141 because that patch is more recent?

Ok, then please add the new patch to #2141 (feel free to set the milestone to 0.12 there as well). It's better to keep the work focused in the original ticket, especially when there are already people on the CC: list.
