trac-admin 'milestone due' accepts dates in format that "edit milestone" page does not

I set the due dates on some milestones using trac-admin:

Trac [/www/trac/minor]> milestone due "Interpreter for Core Scheme" 2006-4-1

and then tried to edit the milestone text via the web interface. The default value placed in the "Due" field was 2006-04-01. Leaving that unchanged, editing the description text, and hitting "Submit changes" got me the error message:

Invalid Date Format

2006-04-01 is not a known date format.

Looking over the extant tickets, it looks like you folks are getting a lot of grief over the date handling. Good luck!
