ping. Figured this would be an easy 3 line drop-in, but I see that it didn't make it into .10.

There could be dozens of new features, new keywords, new syntax for the hook scripts, that why they are in the /contrib directory: there are provided as a base to write custom scripts for custom needs. I don't think all the suggested keywords and syntaxes can be merged into the existing scripts.
If a user wants a new keyword, it is simple enough to apply another user's patch. I think the scripts should be kept simple enough so that users can adapt and customize them easily.
