#10117 closed enhancement (worksforme)

Reference to ticket should also (optionally) display ticket summary

Description

Hi,

I think it would be nice if the ticket summary could be included in links to tickets.

For example, a proposed syntax like

#895646#

Would be rendered as

#895646: Reference to ticket should also (optionally) show ticket summary

This of course would not modify the 'default' syntax, which only displays the ticket number.

The advantage:

  • you see immediately what the ticket is about
  • when the ticket summary is updated, you don't have to edit the link in all pages that reference it.

On second thought, this could be a wiki macro too, with a syntax like

[[TicketSummary(10117)]]

How about:

[[TicketQuery(id=10117)]]

which renders as:

#10117
Reference to ticket should also (optionally) display ticket summary

Nice, isn't it? :)

Yeah, nice enough :-) Stupid of me to not consider the TicketQuery…

#10117#

Would still be a nice syntax though ;-)

We still have #5227 opened for something like that ;-)
