The //odd// numbered version correspond to the development releases, as they are built, starting from 1.x.1. This is where you see most of the new features happening. It is used to prepare the release notes for the stable release.

The //even// numbered version correspond to the stable releases, starting from 1.x, detailing all the 1.x.y maintenance releases.
