[http://peak.telecommunity.com/DevCenter/setuptools setuptools] is a package aiming at building better Python packages, namely Python "eggs".

Trac support [TracPlugins plugins] packaged as eggs, since [milestone:0.9].

Trac itself will be able to be packaged using setuptools (and use it for specifying its dependencies), starting with [milestone:0.11].
