Description

It would be nice if another option were added to the "show already completed milestones" option: it would display the latest completed milestone - or the n last completed milestones, so that users can see the latest milestone achievement and features even if this milestone has just been reached/completed.

Up to now, the only option to show the recently completed milestone is to display all milestones, which is far too coarse selection as it can lead to display a very long list of old and "useless" info.

Many users want to browse the latest provided features in the days that follow a milestone completion.

What about this UI:

  Show already completed milestones:
   (o) Last
   ( ) All
   ( ) None

(i.e. defaults to Last)

This would be nice and fullfils my current needs, although I think that if this feature is enabled, some users will request for a fine-grained selection (last n milestones or time-based filter).

Another UI option could be a drop-down list:

but I'm fine with the checkbox UI.

I'd like to see this feature too ;)
I also agree with the radio buttons. How about this though:

(o) Last (default)
( ) All
( ) [ enter amount here ] ← textbox
( ) None

the possibilities to easier see what happened last stated on #4403 (which i closed as duplicate):

  • display the roadmap inverse for closed milestones, i.e. the newest milestone first.
  • add a paramter "number of closed milestones to include", empty would be current behaviour
  • add a parameter "end date of milestone later than", empty would be current behaviour

Also, see comment:ticket:1440:27. Summary:

  • Have a new date field which defines when milestone is archived
  • When a milestone is marked as completed, then allow setting the archived date, by default today+N days (configurable)
  • On the roadmap view, in addition to "Show already completed milestones", have the option "Show recently completed milestones", which excludes archived milestones from the list.

Much simpler: what about a "sticky" flag?

We had a similar issue in our company; my boss wanted to sort all milestones in descending order, so the next milestone to be done should be shown first. I realized it in a separate plugin, see http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/RoadmapPlugin.
