    1 r12569 removed the usage of `trac.tests.notification.smtp_address`. It is proposed for removal in [https://github.com/edgewall/trac/pull/20/commits/2ea0617972b75648c51d40d8d8d5f14715fed4e1 pull request 20]. The function uses an undefined variable `start`. Should we just remove it, or deprecated it for removal in 1.5.1?

Should we just remove the function, or deprecated it for removal in 1.5.1? It's possible some plugin is using it, but I think probably unlikely.
