Description

One of my favorite subgenres of horror is cosmic horror, and Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu is unquestionably the most well-known and well-liked TTRPG in the genre (I'm a huge fan, in case you couldn't tell).

Players assume the role of detectives—typically everyday people—investigating strange occurrences that turn out to be connected to extraterrestrial gods, unfathomable cosmic forces, and other terrifying beings that are definitely not our friends ​https://backroomsgame.io

The original version is comparable to a 1920s version of The X-Files, with the exception that the investigators usually end up insane or dead (or both), and the events they are looking into have the potential to put humanity at risk. Pulp Cthulhu also adds an Indiana Jones/The Rocketeer feel to the proceedings.
