The Trac open source project is run and hosted by [http://www.edgewall.com/ Edgewall Software].

The mission of the project is to develop and improve the Trac program as a collaborative effort in a [http://www.catb.org/~esr/writings/cathedral-bazaar/ bazaar-type] project environment.

The Trac project is - quite naturally - self-hosted in Trac itself, and should serve as an example project for others interested in using the program for their own project.
