Not quite, I think it should be released this year, but it depends on how things go.
This language support is in SVN trunk already though.

There was a small error on translation, Submit changes (on wiki edit page) was translated to Última alteração, I think this should be Enviar mudanças. I fix it on the last patch, I fix some missing/erroneous message translations too.
Leslie, what is the status of your work? I didn't advance forward before know if you sent your last update.

Michel Thadeu Sabchuk

Michel,
so is milestone marco or marca? Because you used marco consistently, whereas the current translation file has marca. I've changed all marca instances to marco, where you missed them.
Also, you have added things like %(last)d of %(total)d, but for all I know Portuguese in Brasil has no 'of' in the language, shouldn't this be something like de? I did not add those for now.
See r7283.
Muito obrigado!

- Type changed from task to enhancement
I think the best translation for Milestone is keep the English word milestone. nobody I know in project-managemet call milestone as "marco" or "marca". Otherwise a good translation for common use whould be "Planejamento"

Too bad you missed the beta1 for 2 hours ;-)
But hey, that release kept slipping for about 2 weeks now, so it was really time...
Committed your catalog in r9598.
However, that translation is only up to 75%, as the latest messages.pot template has 1099 messages.
You have basically 2 ways to refresh a catalog from the template:
- using Python tools (install Babel 0.9.5 and python setup.py update_catalog -l pt_BR or simpler, make update-pt_BR)
- using msgmerge from the msgfmt tools , if you're familiar with that; Transifex does that for you when you download the catalog, so it's also an easy way to always work on an up to date catalog

Leslie, a few remarks about [9683]:
- lots of errors during catalog compilation; please do make compile-pt_BR and fix the error this reports before committing
- the commit message should have the following format "l10n/pt_BR: some message (83%)", the percentage being the ratio of (make stats-pt_BR translated messages) / (make stats-pot untranslated messages).
I'm not even sure why the catalog was compiled at all without -f, while there were still strings marked as "fuzzy"...

Great! I've used your comments to build my environment here. I've done a sprint to finish it by now and it's done (for now) at [9695].
I've also built a shell script that runs the validation commands and calculates
automagically the translation percentage (uses sed + bc to do it). I'm attaching
it to this ticket.
With a few modifications, it could be included as a helper for other teams ;-)

wiki:TracTermsPtBr states that "Solicitação" should be used for the translation of "ticket". However, in some places it appears as "tíquete", and others as "ticket". Are there any plans of changing this translation? Or perhaps documentation on why this was changed? (Plus: Is this the appropriate way of contacting the translation team? If not, how?)

Hello Leslie,
I spotted a few problems in the translation currently in the svn 0.12 stable (which we are using actively at my workplace), and fixed them. Attached to this comment is a patch you might want to apply (messages.po.diff).
On the ticket term for pt-br (tíquete), shouldn't we change that on the wiki also?
Cheers,

My 2 cents.
I made some "polishing" or "fine tunning" on http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracTermsPtBr?version=23 for some Trac terms. Some of them (for complete suggestions see above page):
- Delete ->
Deletar-> Apagar http://pt.wiktionary.org/wiki/apagar- Avoid to use deletar (http://pt.wiktionary.org/wiki/deletar)
- Source ->
Fonte-> Repositório (http://pt.wiktionary.org/wiki/reposit%C3%B3rio)- Repositório it's more generic, since you can save much more than source code
- Ticket ->
Tiquete-> Incidente (http://pt.wiktionary.org/wiki/incidente)- Tiquete also refers to a purchase bill
- Incidente -> its meaning covers both / allows to register properly:
- something which is planned
- something which is unexpected
- this ->
essa-> esta (http://pt.wiktionary.org/wiki/esse)- esta it's the correct way because we have the page "very close to us"
- Owner ->
Dono-> Responsável- Comment: we want someone to do something, to be in control of, not just to be the owner
- Timeline it's currently translated to Histórico (preferred form) but some places still refers to Linha do Tempo
- Template ->
Template-> Modelo (http://pt.wiktionary.org/wiki/modelo)
Notes:
- Suggestions made against pt_BR po file at 2010-08-01.
Sorry not to have used Trac translation standard procedure.
Any doubt feel free to contact me.

Hi Adrian,
I would like that you've discussed your modifications here before making such big changes at the wiki page.
There are many changes that I do not agree as a Brazilian Portuguese native speaker. So, I'll revert your changes for now, and we can discuss it here, before showing them at the wiki.
Note that this translation is for Brazilian Portuguese team, and some Portugal terms do not apply to our reality.
Cheers,
LEslie

Hi LEslie,
Note that this translation is for Brazilian Portuguese team, and some Portugal terms do not apply to our reality.
I know, and suggestions are for pt_BR. My reality it's also pt_BR.
Let's discuss a little about tiquete? I believe it's not a good word even in English.
At Trac, a Ticket represents:
- a note
- a task assignment
- a registry of ...
- a notification of ...
- a discussion thread
- enhancement request
- report of ...
- ...
Tickets are part of an Issue tracking system. Then we are dealing with issues. By now I couldn't find any other words more appropriate or widely representative of the whole idea than Incidente.
The word tiquete it's a slang.
Regards,
Adrian

Hello Leslie and Adrian,
On the corrections I've sent: Leslie, have you also fixed the "pedido" occurrence? It should be "ordem". "Order" have both translations in portuguese, but "ordem" is the right one in that place.
On the "tíquete" discussion: I also don't like the current translation, but we have to keep in mind that no translation will please everyone. At my workplace we use a slightly modified trac version, where "ticket" was translated to "demanda". If you intend to change the current translation, I would suggest "ocorrência" (my personal favorite), "demanda" or "chamado" instead of "incidente", which are more common words in helpdesk and issue tracking systems I'm aware of.
Cheers,
-- Mírian.

Ocorrência is a good one too! And it's equivalent to Incidente. (If adhere a guideline: to avoid words requiring special characters on computers as much as possible. That's another story).
I think chamado it's restrictive for the sense of general issue (from bug report, help desk, requirement management, ...). Same for demanda

Adrian
comment:51 Changed 16 months ago by lwatter
Hi Folks,
sorry for the long delay, but sometimes real life takes it's time.
Trac is a ticket system, it controls tickets, and a ticket can be used as many
things, like : (pt_BR only)
- Um chamado
- Uma demanda
- Um incidente
- Um pedido
- Uma solicitação
- Um relatório de bug
- Ocorrência
A tíquete is a generic term that can be used in all of the above ocasions.
All of these things can be summarized on a ticket, but a call (chamado) is not a
request (uma solicitação) or even a bug report (relatório de bugs).
The word tíquete is not a slang as can be seen at Brazilian Academy of Letters
http://www.academia.org.br/abl/cgi/cgilua.exe/sys/start.htm?sid=23, just put
tíquete at the search field.
http://www.academia.org.br/abl/cgi/cgilua.exe/sys/start.htm?sid=23 coloque
tíquete no campo de pesquisa) como substantivo masculino.
So, because of this, I'll stay with ticket at the oficial repository.
Thanks,
LEslie
